Proprietors Kevin and Helen Milner have taken great care to retain the Victorian family house’s original features and each room has been lovingly decorated and furnished in keeping with the property’s heritage.
You can expect a warm welcome at this award winning York Bed and Breakfast. Not only does The Farthings have a four-star rating from the English Tourist Council, but it has also been noted in the 2004 Which Good B&B Guide as one of the editor’s top 20 choices.
While secreted in the peace and calm of a cul-de-sac, The Farthings is only a few minutes' walk from the spectacular walls which are so much a part of local history. The city centre and train station are only a little farther and can be reached in under 10 minutes.
Rooms are available from £30 per person sharing a standard double, although for a double or twin room with an en-suite shower and toilet, rates start at £35 per person. Single accommodation is also available and starts at £32 for rooms with shared facilities.
For a small family, there is a lovely room with en-suite facilities which can be booked at £90 per night for the room. To make sure all guests want for nothing, each room is centrally heated and comes with colour television, a clock radio and provisions for making tea and coffee.
Included in the tariff is a delicious breakfast, to be enjoyed in the inviting dining room. Guests will have a choice of a Full English, fruits, yoghurts and croissants. Those with vegetarian diets are most welcome.
